New 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Trailer Tackles Fan Complaints And We're More Excited Than Ever

20th Century Fox

Ever since the Queen movie was announced, people have been on the edge of their seats wondering how it would turn out.

Freddie Mercury was such a legend, that the thought of him being the topic of a movie makes a lot of people nervous. It didn't help that there was all the drama from the start of the production that resulted in an all-new cast and direction, but when we finally got a look at what they had in mind we all got excited.

Little hints about the plan for the movie have been released slowly over the last several months. A picture there, a teaser there, but now we've got the first full length trailer and it seems to address all of the things that people were upset about.

Yes, it does seems to fix some of the stuff people were mad about

20th Century Fox

When people first saw the teaser, they thought that Mercury's bisexuality was being erased from the film. It only showed him interacting with a woman, and people thought that was not a fair representation of the LGBT icon.

They also noted there was nothing in the teaser that addressed Mercury's struggle with AIDS, which is obviously what led to his death in 1991.

20th Century Fox

However the new trailer seems to have proved that we all should have been a little more patient, because it was just a teaser after all.

They can't fit everything into the teaser, otherwise it's just a trailer! But this new full trailer shows a lot more of the plot, and combined with the new longer plot synopsis, we can see for sure that we'll see everything we wanted to.

We get a lot more context for the shots we've seen in the new two and half minute long trailer, culminating in the Live Aid performance.

20th Century Fox

As for Mercury's sexuality, the singer has always been very private about his personal life. In the trailer, there is a quote that sounds like something that Mercury probably said on multiple occasions, "What more do you need to know? I make music."

The official synopsis of the movie is much longer and much more detailed than anything we've seen yet.

20th Century Fox

Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet.

"The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career.

"Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day."

The movie comes out on November 2nd, 2018, so it's not much longer to wait before you can see the movie yourself.
