15 Moments From 1998 That Prove It Was The Most Iconic Year Of The 90s

It's hard to believe that 1998 was really 20 years ago. Seems like just the other day that we were tuning into TRL for the first time, and getting exposed to this "boy band" craze that was starting to really pick up steam.
They say a picture's worth a thousand words though, so let's take a look at a few to sum up the year!
1) Harrison Ford was named "Sexiest Man Alive," to the surprise and protest of nobody with a pulse.

2) Brandy and Monica spent a whopping 13 weeks at #1 with "The Boy Is Mine."
3) Every last one of us was "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" at some point during the year.
4) Seinfeld aired its very last episode.

5) While Sex and the City aired its very first.

6) As did Dawson's Creek.

7) Bill Clinton was in some pretty big trouble...

The year gets even more iconic from here...
8) Viagra was approved by the FDA for the first time.

9) MTV premiered TRL, the rest is history.

10) The first Harry Potter was released in the US.

11) These were the three biggest movies of the year.

12) Except for the fact that Titanic was STILL #1 at the box office for 13 weeks straight into 1998.

13) And the fact that its soundtrack was the highest-selling album of the year.

14) ...AND the fact that it won 11 Oscars at the 1998 show.

15) Two syllables, one legend: *NSYNC.
