Start Practicing Your 'Bend And Snap' Because 'Legally Blonde 3' Is Happening

MGM

Snaps for us, because Elle Woods is coming back into our lives in a big way!

That's right, Legally Blonde is coming back and we are psyched! It's been 15 years since we last saw Elle and her best buddy Bruiser, but with news that the franchise is coming back for a part three we can't help but get excited.

MGM

*Disclaimer: I do however want to point out that I refuse to accept that Bruiser will not be a part of it. I know 15 years is a long time for a dog, but maybe she cloned him I don't know, moving on!*

The first Legally Blonde came out in 2001, and it honestly changed the way that we all thought of the "chick flick". The thing is, it seems like people always thought that movies written for women always have to be about a romance and how a woman wants to be with a man, but this movie completely changed that.

MGM

Sure, the premise is that she goes to law school to chase down the man, but she very quickly realizes that she's so much better than him, and the movie changes completely. She becomes this powerful woman who's not afraid to stand up for herself, and she does it without changing who she is.

Does she wear a full on pink outfit into court? Heck yes. Does she use her knowledge of beauty products to her advantage? Absolutely, she does. And guess what, she does this all while everyone assumes shes an idiot just because she likes pink.

MGM

She's pretty much a hero, and sometimes it's nice to see a woman like her who leans into her femininity and proves she is STILL just as strong as anyone else.

The second movie saw Elle venture to DC, trying to get animal testing banned. She learns the hard way that her positive attitude is still not really tolerated, but through her perseverance and her determination, she manages to come out on top.

Yes, there is a bit of a love story that is threaded through the two movies, but it really isn't the focus of either of them. Even though the second movie is based around her wedding, the story is always about her as a person, not just as a bride.

MGM

I know I may be putting too much of an emotional take on these movies, but honestly there aren't a lot of movies like this out there. It just goes to show you that strong women come in all shapes and sizes, and even though they look like a Barbie they still deserve respect!

The third movie in the franchise comes 15 years later, and they are planning on bringing back the whole team.

MGM is apparently really close to finalizing the deal with Reese Witherspoon and the whole creative team from the first two as well.

MGM

The writers who adapted the novel for the first movie, Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah are already in talks for the new script, producer Marc Platt and Adam Siegel are once again producing, along with Witherspoon as a producer and star.

So far the plot has not been revealed, but I think it's safe to say that it will be another empowering journey in Elle Woods's life, that will be taken in a pretty fashion-forward pink outfit.

MGM

It's not like we've been completely without Elle Woods in our lives, because the successful movie was actually turned into a Broadway play! So not only could you see your favorite blonde empower her friends and fight the patriarchy, but you could listen to some catchy tunes while she did it.

People are freaking out about the potential movie too, as they should. You've got some saying "Don't toy with my emotions like this"

There are some pretty amazing demands for the plot, including "If she doesn't take the white house in [Legally Blonde 3] I'll expect a number 4."

They've even got some suggestions for the title of the movie, "The world needs [Legally Blonde 3] to feature Elle Woods becoming the US president. Please give us Legally Blonde: Commander In Chic!"

Personally, I cannot wait for more details. I am going to start practicing my Bend and Snap before this comes out so I am ready!
