It's Been Over 30 Years Since Number 5 Escaped, Here's What The Cast Is Up To Now

Robot movies are one of the greatest genres of movies in my opinion, and one of the top tier choices to watch is of course Short Circuit. This movie is one of those hidden treasures that not everyone knows about, but they absolutely should.

It tells the story of a robot who experienced a short circuit that sent a bolt of electricity through him and made him "alive". His creators are not happy about it, which makes sense because he is technically a giant weapon and they don't know how he will react so they go after him.

<amp-anim src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/tenor.gif" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-anim>

The cast is awesome in this 1986 creation and it's always fun to see where they are now. Let's take a look at all our favorite cast members and see how they are doing after Number 5 was alive.

Ally Sheedy - Stephanie Speck

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/Ally.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

That's right, your favorite basket case grew up to hang out with a robot. The Breakfast Club star was just about everywhere in the 80s, but she is still acting now. She was recently in the show Psych as well as X-Men: Apocalypse.

Steve Guttenberg - Newton Crosby

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/steve.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

Steve Guttenberg played the scientist who developed these robots and really leaned into the "weird scientist" archetype. He continued to be everywhere in the 80s and 90s, and is still acting now in a bunch of shows, most recently in the TV show Ballers.

Fisher Stevens - Ben Jabituya

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/fisher.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

Fisher Stevens even came back for the sequel and has been acting consistently. He has been in a lot of TV shows like Lost, Damages and The Blacklist.

Austin Pendleton - Howard Marner

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/austin.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

It seems like all the actors from this movie have done really well! He did a voice in Finding Nemo, a long run in the TV show Oz, and is in four movies that are currently in post production.

Brian McNamara - Frank

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/brian.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

He played Ally Sheedy's psychotic ex-boyfriend who Number 5 handles in the best way possible. Since then, he has done a lot of TV shows, including Army Wives for several seasons.

Number 5

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/number5.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

Number 5 got a bit of a make over to help him adapt to the changing landscape. His new smaller size has increased his stealth abilities and he was able to successfully save the human race. He is now going by the name Wall-E but we all know that Number 5 is still alive.

Have you seen this movie? Share if you remember it!
