Why Does It Feel Like We Haven't Seen Kevin Costner Since The '90s?

Discover / An Insomniac's State of Mind

The '90s were a great time for Hollywood, and that's probably the reason why we're all movie-crazed.

We were introduced to some exceptional actors like Tom Hanks, Leonardo Di Caprio, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts, who got their big shot right before the turn of the century.

You still hear those names today, but there are some Hollywood stars from the '90s, like Kevin Costner, who haven't effortlessly maintained that well-known status.

Although Costner started his acting career in the '80s, he was nominated and won numerous awards in the following decade. So far he's won two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and one Emmy.

He was praised for his dynamic acting skills that allowed him to play virtually any character possible.

His major successes were in movies like Dances with Wolves, The Bodyguard, JFK, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and A Perfect World.

The actor was a hit, but after one successful decade, no one really knows what he's been up to. His life in the limelight seemed to have come to an abrupt halt...

There was a short period of time that he took a break when his current, and second wife, Christine Baumgartner, had given birth to three babies.

“I want it to be me who tells them about the secrets, the beauty, the treachery and everything that is in life. I don’t want them to learn from someone else," he revealed.

Costner currently has seven children from both marriages, but the 63-year-old actor and director hasn't said goodbye for good to his Hollywood career.

In 2016, he appeared in popular movies like Hidden Figures, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Molly's Game.

He's also been in Swing Vote, Man of Steel, 3 Days to Kill, and McFarland, USA.

He's currently playing the character John Dutton on the 2018 TV series Yellowstone.
