Geoffrey The Giraffe Says Goodbye To Toys 'R' Us And We Can't Help But Get Choked Up

The time has come. Even though we tried to put it off, delay it, or pretend it wasn't happening, the day has arrived. Toys 'R' Us is gone. The doors are closed, the stores are empty, and Geoffrey is out of a job.

That's right, Geoffrey the Giraffe, the one who you were always so excited to see when you were a kid, is now unemployed.

A former employee of the store shared some final photos of the now empty location before the doors closed for good, and it's absolutely heart-wrenching to see all those empty shelves. It's the store that brought us the most joy imaginable when we were kids, and now the future generations won't know what it's like to be a Toys 'R' Us kid.

Rene Johnpiere worked at the company, and she showed us all how sad it really was to say goodbye to Toys 'R' Us.

She shared the message that was posted in the store for the employees to see, and of course it was signed by Geoffrey.

But it's the picture of him that's making the whole internet cry.

People have been sharing their sorrows on Twitter, and it's so relatable.

I feel like the last day came out of nowhere. It's too soon, I wasn't ready.

As we watched the shelves empty, we all felt the same overwhelming sadness.

Seeing the signs for the final day is absolutely heartbreaking.

Empty shelves and carts full of garbage is all that's left in the store.

So it seems as though too many of us grew up, and forgot what it was like to be a Toys 'R' Us kid, but at least our memories of the great days gone by will last forever...

Goodbye Toys 'R' Us! We will miss you!

At least we will have the reopening of KB Toys to fill the void...
