15 Toys That Prove How Much Better Our Childhood Was
Growing up in the 80s and 90s meant that you were lucky enough to own some of the coolest toys that have ever been made. There were just so many good ones to choose between! How many of these iconic toys did you play with when you were young?
Barbie Dream House
Having one of the many different Dream Houses was a pretty important thing when you were young. There were a few different models, but you needed somewhere for your Barbies to live! Whether you had the Barbie Dream House or the Barbie Town House, you were bugging your parents every birthday and Christmas until you were lucky enough to get one.
Etch-A-Sketch
Some people were SO good at these. They could design these big elaborate things on these simple devices, but not matter how good it was, a few shakes meant it would all go away. It may not have been very forgiving for small mistakes, but it was still fun to play with anyways.
Paul Daniels' Magic Set
There is always that one kid who wants to learn magic, and this was the best way to do it!
Cabbage Patch Kids
There were so many different Cabbage Patch Dolls that it often felt like you were the only one in the world with that specific doll. She came with a name and a birthday, and from there it was up to you to give her a personality!

He wasn't the only snow cone machine that we loved, but he was absolutely one of our favorites.
Baby All Gone
While this toy came out in the 90s, we all remember it so well. The cherries that it ate honestly confused us so much when we were kids and even though we know logically that it's obviously just a little system, it's more fun to pretend she was eating it.
Rubik's Cube
Being able to beat a Rubik's Cube wasn't the easiest thing, but if you could do it you were basically a hero.
Speak and Spell
It was the funnest way to learn to spell!

My Buddy
The My Buddy and My Sister dolls were some of the most popular of our childhood. They were even the inspiration behind the horror movie Chuckie!
Rock'em Sock'em Robots
Nothing was more satisfying and frustrating all at the same time. I mean, all you could do was push the button and hope for the best, but it was still super entertaining!
Spirograph
There was something incredibly soothing about using a Spirograph. The mesmerizing patterns were absolutely amazing and the fact that anyone could do it made it super accessible.
Lite-Brite
The best way to have a custom made night lite was to use a Lite-Brite! You could use one of the patterns provided or design your own. Either option was pretty fun to do!
Puppy Surprise
The best and most important surprise for 80s and 90s kids was how many puppies would come inside their Puppy Surprise. I still remember when I got mine for my birthday and it was the most exciting moment. I loved those little puppies SO much.
