A New Looney Tunes Show Is Coming And They Are Going Back To Basics

Every time Porky Pig said "That's All Folks" we knew he was lying. There was always going to be more, it was just all there was for that episode. We've been happy and blessed to have continuing Looney Tunes adventures for decades now, and the world wouldn't be the same without it.

Whether you were a fan of Bugs, Daffy, Porky, or Foghorn Leghorn, there were tons of characters to enjoy and now they are going to come back to our TVs once again.

That's right! The Looney Tunes are coming back and yes, I know there have been other Looney Tunes shows over the last few years, but these ones are going to feel like the original show.

Instead of going for an arc like most shows do, they are going back to their roots. Remember all of those good ol' shorts that we loved? The little five minute sketches that would send Bugs to some wacky place where he'd give Elmer a haircut, or Sylvester would try to catch Tweety, well that's kind of what they are going for.

Warner Brothers announced that the show arrives in 2019, and the season will be comprised of 1,000 minutes of shorts that will be separated across broadcast, mobile, and digital platforms.

President of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series revealed what made them all so excited about this adventure.

"'The Looney Tunes' are one of the most beloved group of animated characters in the world. 'Looney Tunes' cartoons places these characters into the hands of some of the best artists in the business and into an animated shorts format that will remind many of the time when they first fell in love with Bugs, Daffy, Porky and the rest of the gang.”

Each short is expected to run for between one to six minutes which means we will have a lot of options to go through in the season.

They seem to be hinting that they are going to be keeping it in the old style of animation, but chances are they will use computers instead of hand drawing them all to save time and resources. But as long as they look good I don't know that we should complain.

Honestly, I am just happy that they are going to bring them back. Rewatching old Looney Tunes shorts is what weekend mornings are made for, but it would be nice to have a few new options.

We don't know the official start date yet, so far it just says "2019" but as soon as we find out more we will let you know!

Who was your favorite Looney Tunes character?

Whoever they were, I think we can all agree that Bugs Bunny himself had some of the best moments on the entire show.

And also that Foghorn Leghorn had a way with words that never fail to make us all laugh.
