Don't Look Now But The 10 Songs That Defined Your Childhood Are Being Played On Oldies Stations

There's an episode of The Simpsons where a young Homer chastises his dad for not being "with it," only for Grandpa Simpson to give this cryptic comment: "I used to be 'with it,' but then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to you!"

Well, turns out Grandpa knew what he was talking about, because a bunch of the songs we're now listening to are considered "oldies" by the current generation of music listeners. Here are just a few that are now being played on "oldies" and "classic" stations that'll make you feel like a grandparent.

Nirvana - "Smells Like Teen Spirit"

It's one of the most iconic rock songs of all time, and ushered in the grunge era when the 90s were just underway. Real talk, this song is now almost 30 years old. Yeah.

Jennifer Lopez - "Jenny From The Block"

We're pretty sure this song was a bit of a lie when it came out, and given her massive success in the decades since, I seriously doubt she's still Jenny from the block anymore.

Barenaked Ladies - "One Week"

It's been one week since you looked at me, but it's also been an entire lifetime since this song came out.

Ace of Base - "The Sign"

This is probably a sign that we're all starting to become adults, and I hate it.

Get ready to feel REALLY old with these next few...

Matchbox 20 - "Unwell"

Rob Thomas has been a little unwell for 15 years now, maybe someone should go check on him?

Mariah Carey - "Fantasy"

My fantasy is one where I can stay young forever and avoid the sweet embrace of death.

Stone Temple Pilots - "Creep"

Scott Weiland's death feels like yesterday, and for that matter so does when this song came out.

2pac - "California Love"

The song's definitely outlived Pac himself, long enough to be considered "old people music" by people born in the 2000s.

Natalie Imbruglia - "Torn"

Did you know this song is a cover? If this song's an oldie, I wonder what the original would be considered? Ancient?

Foo Fighters - "Everlong"

That's it, I give up. I'm checking myself into an old folks' home.
