The Charmed Reboot Has Released Their First Trailer And People Aren't Happy

We've all been waiting months for the details of the new Charmed reboot and now we finally have our first look at it.

That's right, the CW released the first trailer and it's a lot to take in. We find out the general plot of the show, a little bit about the three sisters, and see a small hint of the supernatural elements they will be going up against.

First of all, one original 'Charmed' witch is not that happy about it

Even though it's too late to do anything about it now, Holly Marie Combs, who played Piper Halliwell, has been pretty vocal about what she thinks about this show.

"Here’s the thing. Until you ask us to rewrite it like Brad Kern did weekly don’t even think of capitalizing on our hard work. Charmed belongs to the four of us, our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans. FYI you will not fool them by owning a title/stamp. So bye."

She's also a little bit annoyed that they keep calling it the "feminist" reboot because she didn't think that was missing from their version.

"Guess we forgot to do that the first go around. Hmph."

Even though she's not excited, you can decide for yourself if you're invested

The story starts with two sisters who live with their mom who seems to love them a lot.

However their mom dies suddenly in a suspicious way and they obviously have a lot of issues dealing with that.

But before they can even deal with it, another woman shows up claiming to be their sister, they are left stunned.

Just after they all meet, they each start experiencing some weird supernatural events.

One sister seems to freeze time, another shoots objects across the room, and the last can hear people's thoughts.

They are all taken in a very dramatic way and brought together to finally get the explanation that their mother had been hiding from them for their entire lives.

A man is there, and he's apparently supposed to be their teacher of sorts, to help them learn how to deal with their new powers, because the three of them are "charmed".

They are each powerful witches.

He reveals that their mom was a witch, but she had blocked their powers. She had been returning their powers on the night she was murdered.

He gives them a book their mom had that is full of spells that they can use to help solve her murder.

While two of the girls are hesitant, eventually they all agree to work together.

They start to experience some truly insane things, like monsters and demons, but together they hope to have the power to stop the issues and also figure out what happened to their mom.

As for monsters, this was the best look at one that we really saw. Looks like he's got a bad case of gingivitis and a bit of a shaky hand when it comes to eyeliner.

The three sisters are named Mel, Maggie, and Macy, and as long as they work together they will be able to use their powers to fight demons like raccoon-eyes and hopefully find out why their mom was killed.

So far, reactions seem pretty tempered, okay I'm lying, people are straight up mad.

They are real upset about the fact that they went for a reboot instead of a revival, with one fan saying "We do not want a Charmed reboot. We want a revival."

People really weren't shy about their opinions on the show. Just like Combs, they were not happy with it at all.

One person said "Charmed was clearly the highest form of television art and the Elders never would've let this reboot happen, a demon has altered our timeline, we need the Power of Three."

We won't really know how it is until we see it, but judging by the trailer I am a little skeptical that it will be as good as the original.

What do you think? Are you excited to see a new take on the Power of Three, or do you think they should have just let it be?

If you'd rather stick with the original, then you can probably watch it online somewhere or just read all the interesting facts about it. It was honestly one of the best shows ever.

Seriously, all the rumors around this reboot have been circling for months, at least now we have some concrete proof of what they've been up to, right? Even if we don't love it, we can stop wondering.
