Ben Affleck Is Hanging Up His Cape, According To His Brother

There have been a lot of amazing versions of Batman over the years. Whether you were a fan of Christian Bale, Michael Keaton, Adam West, or even the infamous Clooney years, the studio keeps trying to remake it.

The latest version was Ben Affleck in Batman v Superman. While his version caused a lot of controversy (personally, I want to know why Batman was using so many guns) the fact of the matter was that he was supposed to be around for the upcoming Justice League and his own stand-alone film called The Batman.

The Batman was going to be the solo movie that would fit into this new DC franchise that includes Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash. Each were supposed to join together in The Justice League before separating out to their own project, but there are rumors that "The Batfleck" is not interested.

These rumors aren't new, Afleck has been dodging them for a while, but now his brother Casey Affleck has added fuel to the fire and has people wondering what's going to happen.

Ben Affleck previously denied the rumors when they first came up at the San Diego Comic Con, but they have not subsided. His brother, Casey Affleck, seems to have let some news slip while he was being interviewed for his latest film and may have inadvertently gave away a scoop.

When asked about his brother's performance as Batman, he said, "I thought he was an OK Batman. No, I thought he was great. He was great. He’s a hero, so he had something to channel and work with there. But he’s not going to do that movie, I don’t think. Sorry to say."

This immediately got a reaction from the hosts of the radio program, so Casey tried to deflect by saying, "Is that breaking news? Because I was just kind of making that up, I don’t know.”

Was he really just making a joke? Or was it something he was privy to that he wasn't supposed to let slide. You can watch the interview yourself and see what you think.

Would you be disappointed if Ben Affleck didn't make a stand alone Batman film or were you not a big fan of his portrayal anyway? Let us know in the comments!
