12 Slogans From Your Childhood That You Still Can't Get Out Of Your Head

Commercials were always trying to get kids to buy things (or more accurately, get them to but their parents to buy them things), but sometimes a slogan worked just a bit too well, and was way more memorable than what it was even supposed to sell. In the case of these 12, you might have never bought the product, but you remember the ad.

Hostess - "Where's the cream filling?"

This always accompanied something trying to eat an inanimate object that looked like a snack cake, because apparently nobody can tell the difference just by looking at it?

Pringles - "Once you pop, you can't stop."

This was a pretty good one because they capitalized on their weird pop-tube storage thing, which comedian Mitch Hedberg once desribed as "Like they were gonna sell tennis balls, but a truckload of potatos showed up and Pringles were like 'f*** it, cut 'em up.'"

California Milk Processor Board - "Got Milk?"

I seriously have no idea if this actually drove up milk sales, but that slogan is going to be burned into my brain forever.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch - "The taste you can see!"

Why the hell were so many people not able to see why kids loved Cinnamon Toast Crunch? It's cinnamon and sugar; what's not to like?! Hell, most adults I know like it too.

Mentos - "The Freshmaker"

I don't think I've ever actually had a Mentos in my life, but that freaking theme song and slogan are something I can never forget.

These next few slogans are definitely gonna bring back some memories for you...

Pop Tarts - "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM"

Because a great way to sell your sugary breakfast treat is by an obnoxious 90s guy yelling at you. Seems legit.

M&Ms - "Melts in your mouth, not in your hands"

This is an old one (it dates back to about 1954) but hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it. After all, not a lot of chocolate candies can make this claim.

Lay's - "Betcha can't eat just one"

I've taken this bet several times and always lose. Curse you, salt addiction.

Kit-Kat - "Gimme a break!"

I never really understood what it was with Kit-Kat and implying you needed one to take a break, but hey, chocolate does kind of make everything better.

Frosted Flakes - "They're GRRRRRRRREAT"

It's truth in advertising, AND catchy! What more could you want?

Energizer - "It keeps going and going and going..."

I couldn't care less about batteries as a kid (until my Game Boy died on a long car ride, of course), but that pink bunny was pretty freaking memorable.

Buckley's Cough Medicine - "It tastes awful, and it works."

Respect for truth in advertising I guess, but not gonna lie, I still haven't tried Buckley's to this day.

What slogan do you remember even better than the product?
