10 Music Videos That Should Have Put More Effort Into The Effects

Green screen is when a giant green screen is used to project images behind whatever's standing in front of it. It's a technology that has been used in gorgeous, multi-million dollar movie and video productions, and when done well it looks great. When done poorly though, you get things like these 10 videos.

Damage - "Forever"

It's literally 4+ minutes of some weird swirling blue background. Why?

Backstreet Boys - "Larger Than Life"

This video looked amazing back in the 90s, but the CG from those years has aged REALLY badly.

Twenty 4 Seven - "Slave To The Music"

Solid color backgrounds with random words flying by? Why did they even need to use green screen for this?

Swoop - "Apple Eyes"

They're on a checkerboard... in an orchard... in the sky? What?

The green screen just keeps getting worse from here...

Ace of Base - "Never Gonna Say I'm Sorry"

It's quite possibly the most mundane collection of real-life images combined with some terrible filters.

Eddie Murphy ft. Michael Jackson - "Whatzupwitu"

Because who doesn't want to see the kings of pop and comedy dancing in front of an obviously fake sky, with random things falling from above them? Also, those gold borders with globes. Wow.

David Hasselhoff - "Hooked on a Feeling"

Yes, the Hoff did a cover of the Blue Swede classic. Yes, it features some hilariously bad green screen. No, it is not good.

Destiny's Child - "Survivor"

I genuinely have a hard time believe that Destiny's Child had to "survive" anything for this video, other than maybe standing around in a studio for a while.

Soundgarden - "Black Hole Sun"

In a video that's supposed to be pretty weird, the incredibly obvious and awful green-screened sky is super distracting.

Vanilla Ice - "Ice Ice Baby"

Just look at this. How could it not be the worst one?

She's A Little Bit Country, He's A Little Bit Rock & Roll, But What Was Really Going On Behind The Scenes?

Donny and Marie Osmond were the siblings that we all longed to be like. Why couldn't we get along with our brothers and sisters like they did? What was it about this singing and dancing family that just seemed weirdly delightful?  The show only ran for three years, but in that time, they managed to gain an enormous audience. They had both already seen some success in the business, with Donny singing with his brothers in their band The Osmonds, and Marie breaking out on her own topping the charts with "Paper Roses." Ricky Martin Is Back In The Spotlight, But Where Has He Been All These Years?

Lately it seems like Ricky Martin is everywhere, and it's giving us serious '90s nostalgia.Between wedding bells, a role on a hit TV series, and a residency in Las Vegas, we're all livin' la vida loca again. Brandy Was A Huge Star In The 90s, But How Has She Kept Her Career Going Since Her Infamous Car Accident?

She became a huge hit when her song "I Wanna Be Down" came out when she was only 15 years old, but it feels like it has been years since we have seen Brandy. She made her big screen debut in the movie I Know What You Did Last Summer, and also starred in a made-for-TV version of Cinderella.
