We've Gotten Our First Look At The New 'Hey Arnold' Movie And We Need It Now

Nickelodeon

If you were a kid in the late 90s and early 2000s, you almost definitely spent more than a few afternoons catching episodes of Hey Arnold!

Nickelodeon

Created in 1996 by Craig Bartlett (Rugrats and The Ren & Stimpy Show), Hey Arnold! focused on the titular character Arnold, a wise-beyond-his-years fourth grader who lives with his grandparents in a large inner-city boarding house.

Nickelodeon

The football-headed kid got into all sorts of situations and adventures alongside his best friend Gerald, his perpetual bully (who was secretly in love with him) Helga, and the rest of his eccentric classroom of crazy characters. Some of these adventures were pretty intense for a kids show!

Remember the Pigeon Man episode?Nickelodeon

It was an immensely popular show for Nickelodeon, resulting in 5 seasons and even a theatrically-released movie, the appropriately-titled Hey Arnold!: The Movie.

Nickelodeon

It comes as kind of a surprise then that the show ended on something of a cliffhanger. Arnold had recently found a map that was supposed to lead to the last-known location of his parents, who disappeared into the jungle on a humanitarian mission. This was supposed to be the setup for a second movie, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie.

Nickelodeon

Unfortunately, a dispute between Nickelodeon and Bartlett led to Bartlett leaving the show, and the second movie never happened... until NOW!

That's right, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie is finally happening.

Nickelodeon has released a first-look video about the upcoming movie, in which Bartlett fills us in on what's happened since we last saw the gang.

Nickelodeon

For starters, there'll only have been a 1 - 2 year gap between the final episode of the show and the movie, meaning everyone will have grown up a bit, but not significantly.

Nickelodeon

Everyone's also gotten a bit of a fashion makeover! Arnold's now wearing a jacket, Gerald has a hoodie instead of a jersey, and Phoebe looks a little more put together!

Nickelodeon

Bartlett also mentioned in an interview that while not every voice actor from the original cast will be coming back, nearly 20 would be! The film will also feature Alfred Molina as its villain, La Sombra. Getting excited yet? We sure are!

Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie is due out sometime in 2017.

11 Years Later, Where's The Cast Of "7th Heaven" Now?

7th Heaven was one of the few shows you could sit and watch as a family growing up. It was a wholesome show that still held our attention for over a decade. We grew up with the characters as they did, and everyone can probably list off five lessons they learned while watching. But now, 11 years after the show ended, what is the cast up to now? Let's start with the women. Catherine Hicks as Annie CamdenCWHicks played one of the best TV moms of all time, showing us that stay-at-home parents do more than just stay at home.

Josh Hartnett Was A Massive Star In The Early 2000s, So Why Haven't We Seen Him Since?

She's A Little Bit Country, He's A Little Bit Rock & Roll, But What Was Really Going On Behind The Scenes?

Donny and Marie Osmond were the siblings that we all longed to be like. Why couldn't we get along with our brothers and sisters like they did? What was it about this singing and dancing family that just seemed weirdly delightful?  The show only ran for three years, but in that time, they managed to gain an enormous audience.
