Sister Act Stars Are Back In The Habit For The 25th Anniversary

Buena Vista Pictures

We all remember the epic and wonderful classic Sister Act, right? Well, 25 years after it was released, the cast has decided to come together and bring a little bit of joy to our day.

Buena Vista Pictures

Whoopi Goldberg starred as Deloris, a lounge singer who gets put in protective custody after she witnesses her boyfriend committing a crime. She is brought to a convent where she had to pretend she was one of the nuns. Unfortunately, this did not go as easily as she had hoped.

In her time at the convent she did manage to make some friends:

Together the group helps change the way the choir is run and add a little bit more fun into the situation. The bond between Deloris and the other nuns is so strong that they risk their lives to rescue her when she is kidnapped!

Buena Vista Pictures

The movie ends with her leading the choir in a performance of "I Will Follow Him". In celebration of the movie's anniversary, Whoopi Goldberg brought her former cast mates to the stage on The View to once again perform the song that helped solidify this movie as a classic.

They also shared some secrets from the set...

A good portion of the cast made their way to the show to participate in the reunion. Maggie Smith (Mother Superior) couldn't make it, but she did send a video along that said that "I have such fond memories of when we did those crazy, crazy, crazy films. I send you lots of love.”

Buena Vista Pictures

Najimy and Makkena joing Goldberg for an interview and shared stories from behind the scenes. Najimy's favorite prank was off set in the hotel room after a long day of filming.

Buena Vista Pictures

She said "[We were in] one of those hotel rooms and we ordered wine and fries, as one does in a nun’s outfit, and we ordered room service… and room service came up and right before it came up I put porn on the TV and we were both in our nun outfits, and I said to [Makkena], ‘Don’t you change it! Don’t you change it!'”

The best part about the reunion was obviously when they sang. They all got into their choir formation and belted out the song "I Will Follow Him". It was pretty adorable to see them all back together again!

Can you believe that it has been 25 years since Sister Act came out?
