Sisqo Is Back With The Remake You Didn't Know You Needed

The Thong Song is a lot of things: Iconic. Important. Legendary. At least according to the singer of this absolute gem of a song.

Sisqo dropped onto the radar with this "classic" in 1999 off his album "Unleash the Dragon". Now, The Thong Song is considered one of those nostalgic hits from our childhood even though it is SUPER inappropriate.

Seriously, I remember listening to this song at every middle school dance while teachers stood on the side lines. Why would they play this?!

Probably because it was hilarious to us as kids and we didn't really understand the meaning anyways. That's pretty much the best reason I can come up with.

Now just when you thought this song was gone from your memory, Sisqo is bringing it back! It's not just a simple re-release of the original, he went all out with a brand new version.

That's right, a new Thong Song. Did your summer just get a whole lot better?

Why? How? Who? I understand, you have a lot of questions, but Sisqo has answered them all.

"I've been asked so many times over the years to make a new version of 'Thong Song' and I have declined every time until I heard the new version that JCY did. I thought it was dope and figured maybe it was time to put some new rims on the Bugatti." Sisqo told Buzzfeed.

It wasn't all smooth sailing to get this new song and video done.

Sisqo hasn't really been on the top of peoples' minds in recent years, but The Thong Song never really left. It's one of those catchy tunes that has embedded itself in our memories and made it impossible to forget.

Sisqo knows that the song was a hit and was excited to make this new version with JCY, but in the weeks leading up to the video shoot everything that could go wrong did.

"We experienced a devastating loss in our team and we were all pretty emotional," he continued, "On top of that, I’d just done a show on the complete opposite side of the country where I dislocated three ribs."

His original dance moves weren't going to work with the pain in his ribs. "The epitome of insult to injury was the couple of hours we had to learn brand new choreography for the video right before recording it where in most cases you get a week to learn a new routine. Even though I had to perform in the video injured, I think it turned out pretty good"

See for yourself! The new video is out and it is definitely something...

Let us know what you think in the comments. Do you like the new version or the original better?
