Rick Moranis’ Is Back And Set To Make A Hollywood Return After A 20 Year Hiatus

One of my all time favorite actors is going to grace us with an appearance on the silver screen.

Remember him from Strange Brew?

Or maybe Ghostbusters?

Little Shop Of Horrors?

Way back when in 1997, Rick Moranis began what would become a long break from acting. He wanted to dedicate his time to his two children as a widower.

He has not appeared in a live-action film since, other than some voice-over work for a few animated films, notably Disney's Brother Bear.

Maybe his most iconic role was that of the father Wayne Szalinski in 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids'.

Well guess what friends?

Rick Moranis is set to appear in Disney's upcoming reboot of 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids'!

According to Variety, Moranis will reprise his role as Wayne, the crackpot scientist who accidentally shrunk his children, then accidentally made his infant child enormous in 1992’s “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid,” and then accidentally shrunk himself and his wife in the 1997 straight-to-video sequel “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves!”  which was also the last time Moranis acted in a live-action feature.

The movie will be made for the theatrical side, not Disney+.

Disney was trying to tone down the rumors that Moranis was returning, but today all has been revealed.

We will be treated with having the original director Joe Johnston join the film along with Josh Gad. The movie centers around Gad’s character who is the son of Rick Moranis’ Wayne Szalinski. Son is aspiring to be a great scientist like his father, but accidentally shrinks the kids.
