13 Easy Halloween Costume Ideas That Are Perfect For 80s And 90s Kids

Compass International Pictures / Buena Vista Pictures

I get it, Halloween is kind of tricky sometimes, especially if you don't want to go out and buy one of those premade costumes from Walmart.

Sure, they are convenient, but then you end up with a cheap-looking costume that probably doesn't fit right so you end up feeling uncomfortable all night. And, as most of us ladies know, the options for women aren't really that great.

Well, what if I told you I have solved your Halloween woes with a big ol' costume list for you? The best part about it is that they are all characters you love from your childhood! Okay, well the actual best part is that I found all the more cost-effective options so these costumes shouldn't cost all that much.

That's right, we all know it's more fun to dress up for Halloween when you actually care about the costume instead of being a generic witch or zombie, so here are some ideas for you!

1. Roger Rabbit

Buena Vista Pictures

So dressing up as a bunny is pretty plain, but what if you took it up a notch and became Roger Rabbit?

All you need is:

A blue polka dot bow tie:

Some red overalls:

And of course, some yellow gloves:

Bonus if you can find someone to be your Jessica Rabbit or your Eddie Valiant!

2. Lindsay Weir

A lot of us related to Lindsay's struggle of trying to figure out who she was, so why not go after that iconic style of hers? Bonus, you can probably wear all of her clothes again. Here's what you need:

Some simple brown pants:

Get them here.

A brown striped shirt:

Get it here.

And of course, an over-sized army jacket:

3. Ned Flanders

Fox

Well Hi-diddly-ho neighborino! Sure, you could go with one of the main Simpsons characters, but honestly, who would be more fun to pretend to be for a night than Ned Flanders? I feel like you could have a lot of fun pretending to hate Halloween and calling it a religious disgrace and all. Here's what you need!

A cozy green sweater:

Get it here.

A pink button-up shirt:

Get it here.

And some simple grey pants:

Get it here.

Then you're all ready to get your par-diddly-arty on!

Sure, he's kind of a whiny kid, but you know what, he once fought a t-rex so you've got to give him some credit! His outfit is super easy to mimic too as long as you own jeans and these two things:

Striped yellow shirt:

Get it here.

Gold-rimmed round glasses:

Get them here.
