David Hasslehoff Reveals He Is In Talks For A 'Knight Rider' Reboot

NBC

David Hasslehoff is one of those names that just screams 80s. He was essentially everywhere back then, thanks in large part to his amazing show Knight Rider.

NBC

Well, after all these years without Kitt we may be in luck! Hasslehoff says that he is trying to get it to come back!

David Hasslehoff recently appeared in the Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy. He got to sing and dance with the cast in a really ridiculous disco-style parody that is pretty hilarious to watch.

But by working with the Guardians of the Galaxy team, he was introduced to the director of the movie, James Gunn. Turns out James Gunn is a HUGE Hasslehoff fan, and he has some plans for the 80s icon.

In an interview with TMZ, David Hasslehoff spoke about his new professional relationship with director James Gunn.

NBC

He loved working with the team, saying that "The cameo in the sequel was kind of the icing on the cake. What was cool was that they mentioned the name Hasslehoff."

NBC

He said that it really cool to have his name used in the sequel so much and that he found out that it all happened because James Gunn was a fan.

Hasslehoff said, "It all happened because James Gun watched Knight Rider when he was eight-years-old!"

NBC

He continued by saying "I embrace Baywatch, I embrace Knight Rider, especially Knight Rider, and now, we're in talks about maybe bringing it back as a series, which is unbelievable!"

He's aware that people didn't love the other reboots of Knight Rider, but said that "It's got to be true to what it was. Let me be the old guy! Let me be Devin! I can't run, I can't fight, I can't jump, but I can still drive."

NBC

He says that James Gunn is currently working on getting the rights to the show so that he can create something new.
