A Top Gun Sequel Has Been Confirmed By The Maverick Himself

With all the sequels and reboots happening every year, it's not too much of a surprise when a new one is announced, but this one caught us off guard! Are you ready to take the highway to the danger zone...again?

Tom Cruise was on an Australian morning show and announced that the Top Gun sequel was officially happening.

"It's true, it's true. I'm going to start filming it probably in the next year. It's happening, it's definitely happening." Tom Cruise said to the reporter.

Jerry Bruckheimer produced the original and back in January 2016 he tweeted out a picture with Tom Cruise saying they were discussing it but when no news came out of it we all let it go.

But now, both are back and they are trying to figure out the plot. The original was directed by the late Tony Scott, and there is no word on who plans on filling in. Also up in the air is whether Val Kilmer would come back as he is recovering from cancer, but people have a lot of questions of what the sequel would actually be.

A lot has changed in the world since this movie came out, so people have some thoughts of what they should expect.

Do you think you'll watch the new version? Or are you happy sticking with the original?
