Take A Look Inside Oprah's $8.28 Million Orcas Island Estate

When you have a $3.1 billion net worth like Oprah Winfrey, spending a few million dollars on a vacation home is no big deal.

The media mogul, who rose to prominence for hosting The Oprah Winfrey Show, became the first black multi-billionaire in North America, and while she never brags about it, she has made some large donations and purchases that give us an idea of how well-off she really is.

Her most recent purchase is a 7,303-square-foot home that sits on more than 40 acres of land on Orcas Island, one of the largest islands that make up the San Juan Islands archipelago between Seattle and Vancouver.

Dubbed the "Madroneagle," the massive property was designed by RMC Architects and built in 2007. It made it into the market in 2016, but Oprah only scooped it up this year for $8.28 million.

The secluded estate features a 3,000-feet waterfront, a wine cellar, a guest house, workshop, a sauna, private hiking trails, a pond, and huge gardens.

The interior of the four-bedroom house resembles that of a Pacific Northwest lodge with exposed-beam ceilings, reclaimed wood from the old Sears' building in Chicago and iron details.

Although Oprah did not reveal her big purchase, a spokesperson for Windermere, the real estate company responsible for selling the home, confirmed that she is the new owner as of this past May.

Take a virtual tour of the house and you'll see why it's one of Oprah's favorites:

According to sources close to Oprah, she bought the estate as an investment, so she has no plans to move into the home just yet.

In addition to the island getaway, Oprah also owns a $13.5 million high-tech ski house in Colorado, a 1,000-acres on the Hawaiian island of Maui, and a equestrian ranch in California that she purchased for $28,85 million in 2015.

While she does preside over a lot of properties, she calls her 42-acre estate in the affluent seaside community of Montecito, California home.

The Richest

The former talk show host-turned-actress calls her beloved $50 million estate "The Promise Land," and as you can imagine, it's as lavish as it gets.

The house has six bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, two theaters, 10 fireplaces,  a wine cellar, a barn, a tennis court, orchards, a man-made lake, a guest house with a pool, an outdoor entertainment area, and a tennis court.

There's also a tea house on the property, where Oprah escapes to whenever she wants a break from it all.

The Richest

You can find seven different strains of roses, named "The Legends," in her gardens that were developed specifically for her. The flowers honor influential African-American women she threw the Oprah Winfrey Legends Ball for.

I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to live in such lavish homes. Oprah's hard work truly did pay off.
