Here's What Our Future Overlords Will Be Digging Out Of Nickelodeon's 1992 Time Capsule
Back in the 90s, Nickelodeon was all the rage. When networks like Disney were presenting us with programming that focused on offering us moral lessons, Nick was busy glorifying being a kid through their original cartoons and live-action shows.
In addition to filling our childhood with endless entertainment, Nickelodeon also decided to save some of those precious memories so we can all take a nostalgic trip together down memory lane some time in the future.
In 1992, the network had an idea to put together a time capsule. To help decide on the important items to include in the capsule, Nickelodeon enlisted the help of the "Kids World Council."
Together they came up with a list of items that young people of the early 90s cherished and would enjoy seeing again after 50 years. They even held a ceremony hosted by Mike O'Malley, and 90s teen heartthrob Joey Lawrence to mark the burial of the giant orange time capsule.
Here's everything that was important to kids of 1992:

2. A newspaper
3. Piece of The Berlin Wall
4. A pair of rollerblades
5. MC Hammer & Michael Jackson CDs
6. A Nickelodeon shirt
7. Books
A history book, world atlas, a comic book, phone book, a copy of the Orlando TV Guide for the week of April 30, 1992, and the Book of Endangered Species.
Some very popular toys, movies and snacks also made the cut...

The event was recorded by a girl names Vicky. She was responsible for the Kid Cam, which was also included in the capsule.

The capsule was moved from its original burial location in 2005 after Nickelodeon Studios closed. It has been relocated to Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando and will be opened on April 30, 2042.
