Mike Meyers Shared An Update About 'Austin Powers 4' And It's Totally "Groovy, Baby"

New Line Cinema / Access

When you think of the ultimate man of mystery, who do you think of? James Bond? No of course not. Ethan Hunt? Nope, not even close. The obvious answer is Austin Powers.

When Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery came out back in 1997, it felt almost like there was a shift in the world. Suddenly, this ridiculous comedy became all anyone could talk about. It was unexpected, but you know what, it was worth it because the movie was awesome.

Making references and jokes to the movie became common place, and you couldn't really ever say the words "one million dollars" without holding your pinky up to the side of your mouth.

We were lucky enough to get a second and third installment of the series, but after that it just ended. It has already been 16 years since Goldmember came out, and while people have been asking the star for details of the potential fourth movie for over a decade, he's finally ready to talk.

Mike Meyers wrote and starred in the Austin Powers movies as the title character, the villain Dr. Evil, and a few other characters throughout the sequels.

While Meyers was at the premiere for the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody that he is in, he was once again asked about the potential of a fourth movie in the spy series. It was then that he revealed that at least one of the characters will be back "soon."

"You're going to see Dr Evil soon, somewhere in the culture," Meyers revealed to Access with a coy smile on his face, before continuing what has been taking his focus away from a potential fourth movie.

"You know, I've had three kids under the age of seven in the last seven [years]," he said before explaining that the movies take a long time to write.

He also pointed out the Jay Roach, the director of the other movies has been busy recently with his own projects, but that doesn't mean we should give up hope.

"It's looking good," Meyers said. "So we'll see."

The actor seems like he's got more going on than he's allowed to discuss, but if we take the fact that he's actually able to say "it's looking good" as any indication, he's ready for another round.
