Winona Ryder Believes She Accidentally Married Keanu Reeves. Seriously.

Columbia Pictures / Mike Cassese-Reuters

When you are an actor you have to do a lot of weird things. Whether it's acting out your own death, having a baby, or even getting married, actors have to go through the motions of a lot of lifetime events on camera.

It's kind of weird when you think about it, but at least we know that it's all fake and everyone is just telling a story. However, there's one case where two actors may have accidentally gone too far, and they are only realizing it now.

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are staring in a new movie together called Destination Wedding, but it's not the first time they have acted together.

They first met in the 80s, and then starred in the 1992 movie Dracula together, where they played a couple. They both apparently ended up having crushes on each other, but they never actually dated.

Ryder admitted her feelings first in an interview with ET, "I had a pretty big healthy crush on him."

Reeves was quick to respond though, saying, "I had a big healthy crush on you too."

When they were asked what happened to those innocent crushes all those years ago, Reeves clarified that they haven't gone anywhere.

Columbia Pictures

"Oh, it's still raging," Reeves said. "They're still there."

The characters they played in Dracula got married, which probably was a little awkward to film because of their crushes, but the two are now starting to realize that the wedding might have meant a little bit more.

Ryder realized that there is a chance that the wedding scene they filmed was actually real, and that the two actors may actually be married.

Columbia Pictures

“We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life," Ryder told Entertainment Weekly. “In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola, director] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.”

Ryder had to remind Reeves of the scene, but as he put it all together he realized the truth.

Columbia Pictures

“We said yes?" Reeves asked. “Oh my gosh, we’re married.”

Because they obviously wouldn't have filed any paperwork, I would assume that means they are not legally married, but that Romanian priest might disagree with me, as would the director.

“[The wedding was] pretty authentic and I think very beautiful, because we actually did the ceremony and had the priest do the ceremony,” Coppola explained. “So in a sense, when we were all done, we realized that Keanu and Winona really are married as a result of this scene and this ceremony.”

Could you imagine just going to work one day and then decades later realizing that your job accidentally got you married to your coworker? Sounds like the plot to a movie. Maybe it'll be the next one they make!
