They've Been Out Of Detention For Over 30 Years, So Where Did 'The Breakfast Club' Cast End Up?

Nearly 33 years ago, the cult classic, The Breakfast Club hit the big screens and was an immediate success. After more than three decades a lot can change, especially the actors and actresses that portrayed these iconic characters. That being said, after all of these years, where have the five of them actually ended up?

Let's take a walk down memory lane to see if they kept the "Hollywood Dream" alive.

1. Molly Ringwald - Claire Standish

Molly Ringwald looked like she was going to become a Hollywood icon for the rest of her life. But after The Breakfast Club she turned down roles in movies like Pretty Woman, and Ghost, both of which would go on to become huge hits.

She ended up moving to Paris and acting in a series of French films before coming back stateside. She has released her own book of short stories, as well as a jazz album. Her last major acting work was in the ABC Family Network show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

2. Anthony Michael Hall - Brian Johnson

After playing the stereotypical geek in The Breakfast Club, Hall has had quite the entertainment career. He still holds the record for the youngest cast member ever to appear on Saturday Night Live. Hall has appeared in the National Lampoon's Vacation series, Weird Science, Edward Scissorhands, and Six Degrees of Separation. Hall even portrayed Bill Gates in Pirates of Silicon Valley. His first regular recurring role was in The Dead Zone, an adaptation of a Stephen King book. You may have also seen him in The Dark Knight playing a television reporter. Most recently he was convicted of assaulting his neighbor, and he received three years of probation and 40 hours of community service.

3. Judd Nelson - John Bender

Nelson played the "bad boy" from The Breakfast Club, John Bender. While filming the movie, the producers had to tell him to be nicer to everyone on set because he was becoming too much like the character he was playing. Since then he has had few other roles including spots in: Airheads and Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back. He hasn't done much since he starred in the TV show, Suddenly Susan in the late 90s, the show ran for four seasons.

4. Emilio Estevez - Andrew Clark

After doing The Breakfast Club, and St. Elmo's Fire, both in the same year, Estevez would keep up his busy schedule with Young Guns, and Mighty Ducks franchises. You likely haven't seen him on screen lately, but that's because he spends most of his time behind the camera, writing and directing. He wrote and directed the movie, Bobby. It took him six years and it very nearly bankrupted him. In a drastic difference between he and his brother (Charlie Sheen), Emilio has managed to lead a quiet and successful life during his post-acting days.

5. Ally Sheedy - Allison Reynolds

Sheedy has had an up-and-down career since portraying Allison Reynolds in The Breakfast Club. Like Nelson and Estevez, she also starred in St. Elmo's Fire, and ended up doing some TV work in the TV movie, High Art. She even dated rock-star Richie Sambora, the guitarist from Bon Jovi. During the 90s, Sheedy was treated for an addiction to sleeping pills, and she used that experience to prepare herself for her role in High Art. She has also appeared in several TV shows in guest roles including: C.S.I., Kyle XY and Psych.
