10 Songs From The 90s We Still Don't Fully Understand

Plenty of musicians have gotten big off of songs that don't make any damn sense. The Beatles did it, Led Zeppelin did it, and these 10 bands did it. We may love these songs, but we're pretty sure nobody knows what they mean; not even the people who wrote them.

Chumbawumba - "Tubthumping"

The title lets you know that the song is going to be complete nonsense right off the bat, but even that doesn't prepare you for the confusion to follow.

Snow - "Informer"

What in the hell is this song about and what does it have to do with "a licky boom boom down?"

Eiffel 65 - "Blue (Da Ba Dee)"

Why are they blue? What the hell does "da ba dee" mean? What is this? Is this the real life? Is it just fantasy?

Backstreet Boys - "I Want It That Way"

I've been trying to get in touch with the Backstreet Boys for years now to find out what it is they want and what way they want it, but they won't return my calls.

These next few songs just make no sense at all.

Los Del Rio - "Macarena"

This is kinda cheating as we actually figured out what this one was about, but it took extensive research by some of the world's top minds.

Hanson - "MmmBop"

The band claims we've been singing this one wrong for decades. Maybe we could sing it properly if you'd tell us what the hell it means, HANSON!

Aqua - "Barbie Girl"

What exactly is a Barbie World?

Lou Bega - "Mambo No. 5"

I still have no idea what Mambo No. 5 is, or what happened to the first 4.

Beck - "Loser"

Beck is the king of nonsense lyrics, and nowhere is this more obvious.

Kid Rock - "Bawitdaba"

Okay seriously, what the hell is this?

Do you understand any of these songs? I sure don't.

After starring in a few of the biggest movies of the the late 80s and early 90s, Alex Winter seemed to vanish from the big screen. The Lost Boys came out in 1987, and it was absolutely amazing.
